Fees and Policies

The Australian Psychological Society's recommended fee is $311 per session (APS, 2024). We do not charge this rate.

Braden's standard consultation fee is $240 for a 50-60 minute session.

Fees for longer appointments will be negotiated on a case by case basis.

Payment is taken by EFTPOS prior to your appointment. We have facilities to provide on-the-spot rebates for Medicare or Private Health should you intend to make a claim.

Rebates

Patients referred by their GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist with a Mental Health Care Plan are entitled to claim the Medicare Rebate for Clinical Psychology services, up to ten times a calendar year. As at July 2024, the current rebate is $141.85. Out of pocket cost is $98.15.

Insurance

Patients eligible for the NDIS, WorkCoverQLD, or DVA insurance schemes can choose to have their services billed directly to their agency. This can be done without any out-of-pocket cost to the patient.

Some private health insurers also provide rebates for psychology services. Please consult your insurer prior to booking if you intend to make a claim.

Patients wishing to be seen without a referral, or those who wish to continue in treatment beyond what their insurer will cover, will be required to cover the full fee.

Cancellation and Attendance Policy

A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for cancellations. This allows us the greatest chance to offer your appointment time to somebody else who needs it. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice, or appointments that are made but not attended, will incur the full service fee.
